| The Freaks Come Out |
| |
But I mean "freaks" in every possible good sense of the word. I had an amazing time in NYC tonight. I went to the Boards Summit after party at Cut & Run which was right in the centre of NYC's Halloween parade. So many people were out and there were so many great costumes. It was an amazing experience. I've posted a ton of pics here.

| |

Last night, as party of the Boards Summit festivities, my friend Trevor King from Click3X brought me to the very intimate Curious Pictures party. They had a pumpkin carving contest with some great entries that you can view here. The winner was the guy wearing the pumpkin.

| My NYC never looks like this |
| |
I'm in New York until Thursday night for the Boards Summit so I thought I'd post this NYC Tourism spot by Motion Theory that came out a few weeks ago. I wish my New York experiences looked as sweet as this. Mine usually involve the inside of cabs, meetings...more cabs. Hopefully this time I'll have some time to enjoy the city (fingers crossed). Video scooped from Motionographer.

Mary Jo Dionne, freelance copywriter, comedienne and childhood friend, has just launched the online t-shirt boutique TheFleasKneesTees, tailored to the dog-loving fashionista. The launch line-up includes cheeky tees like Fairy Dogmother, Mom-of-a-Bitch, Ghetto Stud’s Mama and DogMom: the new milf. Partial proceeds from every tee are donated to various no-kill animal rescue groups.

| Inside your Guinness |
| |
Studio AKA's Mark Craste created this spot for Guinness based on the characters from his short film Jo Jo In The Stars. Those little guys are a bit creepy, no? But not so scary when they are on their way into my tummy (I love Guinness).

| |
Apparently The Thompson Twins released an advergame in 1984.The Thompson Twins Adventure Game game was included in the grooves of their the record and was released both in regular vinyl and flexi disc formats. The game was a text-based adventure in which you guide the Thompson Twins around a land of beaches and caves (taking them to the hair salon would have been fun too). Scooped from Fuel Industries ihaveanidea.org blog.

| Watch your gag reflex |
| |
Here's the latest kooky campaign for Washington's Lottery directed by Biscuit's Jim Hosking. Watch your gag reflex in String (I thought only cats did that). A bit of trivia, the main character in the second spot, Broken Arm, is actually a rapper by profession. He works in a hip-hop themed sushi restaurant. He's called the Sushi rapper (so says Jim Hosking). For more Hosking, go to Maggot Operations.

Here's a new spot for the Make a Wish Foundation (USA) via Kaplan Thaler Group, New York and Sticks+Stones director Jerry Brown. As per the brand, it tugs at the heart strings a bit, but in a good way and it's so nicely shot. Full credits are here. Jerry Brown also directed the Adidas Four Minute Mile spot that won Best Spec Spot at the AICP this year (love it).

I love the sexy and stylish tribute to Iggy Pop in this viral illustrating (and subtly mocking) the casting process. It was shot at House Production & Casting and Milk Studios and is directed by Georgie Greville. Editorial is by Nathan Byrne, sound by Geremy Jasper and the DP is Joe Arcidiacono. I like it so much, that when I received it yesterday, I watched it three times back-to-back. Thanks to Georgie for sending.

| David Lynch directs Gucci commercial |
| |
I'm about a week late in posting this new Gucci commercial, but I've been busy. I saw it on AdRants about a week ago and Kevin at Boards told me how much he loved it and I finally got around to checking it out today. I love it. Not only do I have a soft spot for David Lynch (I never missed one episode of Twin Peaks) but Blondie's amazing and often wish I were of age in the disco era. A great spot that suits the brand.
